We supply 10mm² single-core copper BV building wire under 60227 IEC 01, 450/750V, with PVC insulation for fixed house wiring. It is made for air-conditioner feeders, instant-water-heater circuits, EV charger branches, sub-panels and rewiring projects that need stable current carrying and easy conduit installation.
1. What 10mm² BV building wire actually is
10mm² BV is a single-core, unsheathed copper wire with PVC insulation. In international tenders it is often referenced as 60227 IEC 01 for solid conductor version, or equivalent to H07V-U when the conductor is Class 1 solid and H07V-R when Class 2 stranded. For house wiring, solid BV is preferred in conduit, trunking and flush wall installation because it holds shape, terminates cleanly on breakers and is easier to label by circuit.
Our 10mm² BV is built for fixed installation only. It is not flexible appliance cord, not armoured cable and not for continuous flexing. If the run involves frequent bending, panel internal wiring in tight spaces or portable equipment, BVR/H07V-K flexible strand is a better choice.
2. Technical parameters for 10mm² BV

3. Where 10mm² BV is used in residential projects
Buyers often ask whether 10mm² is “too big” for homes. It is not if the circuit serves high inrush or continuous load. Typical house applications:

Instant electric water heater, 8kW–11kW models on dedicated 220/230V or split-phase design per local code

Electric oven, induction cooktop feeder when the appliance schedule exceeds 2.5/4mm² capacity

For lighting and normal socket outlets, 10mm² is oversized. Most homes use 1.5mm² lighting, 2.5mm² sockets, 4mm² kitchen/ac minor feeder and 6mm² water-heater/ac feeder. 10mm² is the “heavy branch” size, not the whole-house general wire.
4. Current capacity and practical sizing notes
Published ampacity varies by installation method, ambient temperature, grouping, conduit fill and local correction factors. As a planning reference only, 10mm² copper PVC 70°C single-core in free air or conduit is commonly estimated in the 50A–70A band under favourable conditions; installed in bundled conduits, enclosed trunks or high ambient rooms the usable current is lower. We do not quote a single “max amps” number because it would mislead specifiers.
For quotation and site design, we recommend customers provide:

5. Price parameters for 10mm² BV
PVC building wire price is copper-driven. Copper usually represents the largest part of production cost, and a copper move changes wire price even when labour and margin stay flat. Indicative reference only, not fixed offer:

Domestic China reference for 60227 IEC 01 BV 10mm² 450/750V has been observed around RMB 7.0–7.5/m for certain quoted stock/contract lots, tax and freight terms varying by seller.

Overseas retail for H07V-U 10mm² 100m coil has been listed around EUR 198/coil and USD 223/100m depending on colour, certification and country, which is not comparable to ex-factory B2B price.

B2B export indication for standard PVC insulated copper building wire at 10mm² often falls in about USD 2.00–2.80/m for standard 450/750V PVC, solid or stranded, before certification, packaging and freight; special LSZH, UV-stabilised, flame-retardant or custom-colour versions add cost.

Volume effect: small trial orders under 1,000m are charged at higher unit rate because of rewinding and colour change; 1,000–5,000m usually gets better unit pricing; 10,000m+ projects can be priced with copper-index clause and scheduled roll-over.

Quotation basis we use: EXW factory, FOB port or CIF destination by agreement; copper adjustment clause pegged to LME/shanghai daily average over the pricing window; PVC grade, inspection, drum/coil length, markings and certificates quoted separately.
Do not compare a EUR 1.98/m retail coil with ex-factory FOB metre directly. Retail includes local warehouse, VAT, small-coil rewinding, marketing and compliance paperwork; ex-factory export price excludes most of these.

7. Quality control in production
Every 10mm² BV order is handled as fixed-wiring material, not general wire. Our routine checks include:
